Assineau River is a stream in north-central Alberta, located just west of the town of Slave Lake; it supports walleye, yellow perch, mountain whitefish, burbot and goldeye. Open June 1 to Oct. 31; bait allowed. Species limits: walleye — 1 fish (45–50 cm); northern pike — closed to retention (0 fish); yellow perch — 15 fish; mountain whitefish — 5 fish over 30 cm; burbot — 10 fish; goldeye — 10 fish. Subarea NB2.
