1. Acceptance of terms
By using fishr (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
fishr is a fishing data platform for Alberta anglers. We aggregate publicly available data from Alberta Environment and Parks, including stocking records, fishing regulations, and waterbody information. We also host user-submitted reviews and fishing reports for Alberta waterbodies.
3. Accuracy of information
fishr displays data sourced from government databases. While we strive to keep information accurate and up to date, we make no guarantees about the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data. Always verify fishing regulations with Alberta Environment and Parks before fishing.
4. User accounts
You may sign in using a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
5. User-generated content
You may submit reviews, fishing reports, and photos (“User Content”) for Alberta waterbodies. By submitting User Content, you:
- Confirm that you own or have the right to share the content, including any photos
- Grant fishr a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and store your content as part of the Service
- Understand that your first name, profile photo, and submitted content will be publicly visible to all visitors
- Understand that uploaded photos are stored publicly and may be accessible even after account deletion unless you explicitly request removal
You may submit one review per waterbody. You may delete your own review at any time from the waterbody page.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape or bulk-download data from fishr without permission
- Submit false, misleading, or harmful content in reviews
- Upload photos you do not own or have rights to share
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
7. Intellectual property
The fishr name, logo, and original content are property of fishr. Underlying fisheries data remains the property of the Government of Alberta and is used under applicable open data licences. User Content remains the property of the respective user.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, reliance on data presented within it, or content submitted by other users.
9. Changes to terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of fishr after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
