Overview
Battle River is a prairie stream in east‑central Alberta (PP2), flowing through the Forestburg area and forming part of the Battle Lake/Forestburg Reservoir drainage. Mainstem regulations vary by reach: from Hwy. 771 downstream to Hwy. 855 the season is open May 15 to Mar. 31 and bait is allowed; downstream of the Forestburg Reservoir (and tributaries) the season is open June 1 to Oct. 31 and bait is allowed. Species limits (where specified): northern pike 3 (only over 63 cm), walleye/sauger 3 in combination with walleye minimum 50 cm; downstream of Forestburg Reservoir also: burbot 2 fish and goldeye 10 fish; other reaches reference Battle Lake or Forestburg Reservoir for specific rules.
