Prairie Creek

Prairie Creek is an eastern‑slopes stream in southwestern Alberta (subarea ES1). Bait is prohibited throughout the creek and northern pike have a 3‑fish limit on all segments. Trout and whitefish rules vary by reach: the mainstem upstream of North Fork Road is open Apr 1–Aug 31 with a 2‑trout daily limit and an allowance of 5 mountain whitefish over 30 cm (that upstream reach is closed to trout Sept 1–Oct 31), the portion between Vetch and Swan Creeks is closed to trout Apr 1–Aug 31 (mountain whitefish 0), and the remainder of the mainstem downstream of North Fork Road is open Apr 1–Oct 31 with no trout retention (0 trout) and a walleye limit of 3 fish over 50 cm; mountain whitefish are not retained in these downstream reaches.
