Overview
Spencer Lake is in northeastern Alberta inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range near Cold Lake; access is controlled by the Canadian Forces, may be closed for base operations, and anglers may only access the lake at its west tip—overland trails inside the bombing range (including the trail between Seibert and Spencer lakes) and going ashore inside the range are prohibited. Seasonal access is limited (generally May 15 to Mar 31 with specific weekend/long‑weekend open periods and a Dec. 24 opening window); bait is generally allowed but baitfish restrictions may apply — limits: walleye 2 (45–50 cm), northern pike 1 (over 75 cm), yellow perch 15, burbot 10, lake whitefish 10.
