Sturgeon River

Sturgeon River (PP2) is a stream north of Edmonton near Bon Accord/Gibbons, flowing from its headwaters through Big Lake to the North Saskatchewan River. Regulations vary by reach: headwaters to Big Lake (open May 15–Mar 31, bait allowed) – northern pike 3 (must be over 63 cm), yellow perch 15, burbot 2 (burbot retention 0 from Feb 1–Mar 31), and no walleye/sauger retention; Big Lake downstream to Sec. Hwy. 825 (open May 15–Mar 31, bait allowed) – same limits plus goldeye 10; Sec. Hwy. 825 downstream to the North Saskatchewan River (open year‑round, bait allowed) – northern pike 1 (over 63 cm), yellow perch 15, burbot 2 (0 from Feb 1–Mar 31), goldeye 10, walleye 0 all year, and sauger 0 Apr 1–May 14 then 3 from May 15–Mar 31.
