Clearwater River is a mountain stream in west-central Alberta originating near the Banff National Park boundary; nearest town Rocky Mountain House. Mainstem sections from the Banff boundary downstream to Timber Creek and from Timber Creek downstream to the Forestry Trunk Road are open Apr 1–Aug 31 with a bait ban (limit 2 trout total and up to 5 mountain whitefish over 30 cm) and open Sept 1–Oct 31 with a bait ban but no retention allowed for trout or mountain whitefish (zero limit); tributaries from the Banff boundary downstream to and including Timber Creek are closed year‑round.
